We Are Your Neighbors is a community art project turned board game that invites players to explore the lives of characters navigating real social issues. Using a large illustrated map and story point cards, players work together to find characters’ next steps and reflect on the barriers and resources available to them.

This collaborative game blends discovery with discussion, inviting participants to consider how systems of housing, healthcare, reproductive justice, and family support intersect with personal stories. Each playthrough brings new perspectives and encourages empathy and learning.

Key Features:

  • For 2–4 players, ages 14+

  • Play time: 15–45 minutes

  • Explore the map to find story points and discuss thought-provoking questions

  • Includes real stories from community members and insights from workshops

Why We Made This:
We Are Your Neighbors was created in partnership with artists, writers, and community members across New Hampshire. It’s a testament to the power of art and collaboration to foster empathy and social change. The game was developed with the support of New Hampshire Humanities, the NH State Council on the Arts, and guided by the Community Resilience & Social Equity Lab at St. Anselm College.
