MEET THE TEAM

Queerlective is currently powered by a small but mighty working board. Leading the charge is Executive Director Randall Nielsen, whose vision fuels our mission. Jason DeYoung keeps our events running smoothly. If you’ve ever tabled with us, you’ve probably connected with him. Our vibrant social media presence is thanks to Ashley Johnson, whose creativity brings our work to life online. And at the heart of our community care efforts is Taylor Brown, who leads initiatives like our partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

While our core team is small, our true strength lies in the community we work with. We’re supported by a vast network of artists, collaborators, and community members who help shape our decisions, contribute ideas, and bring our events and programs to life. Want to be part of it? Join our Discord to stay in the loop, share suggestions, and help us dream up what’s next.

Help Shape the Future of Our Community

We’re looking for collaborative, flexible folks who believe in the power of art and community to drive change. Skills in volunteer management, bookkeeping, and grants are especially welcome but what matters most is a shared commitment to our mission and values. We prioritize BIPOC, Trans, and Disabled voices and strive to make leadership accessible, mutually beneficial, and rooted in trust.

But the board isn’t the only way to help out. We’re always looking for:

  • Volunteers to help with events: zine workshops, art shows, and more
  • Artists to feature in our store, collaborate on community projects, or lead gatherings

Queerlective is built by the community and there’s space for you here.

  • Join Our Board

We’re building a board that reflects the creativity, resilience, and diversity of our community. If you’re passionate about art, equity, and grassroots change, we want to hear from you. No nonprofit experience required.

  • Reach Out

Have a question, idea, or just want to connect? Drop us a message. We’d love to hear from you.

  • Volunteer or Collaborate

Whether you're an artist, organizer, or just want to lend a hand, there’s a place for you in our work. Help out at events, co-create a project, or bring your own idea to life with support from Queerlective.

Ongoing Learning & Accountability

We believe that social change starts with reflection, learning, and a willingness to grow. Our team is committed to ongoing education around anti-racism, accessibility, and equity. Not as a checkbox, but as a core part of how we show up for each other and our communities.

We hold space to examine our practices, challenge bias, and build a culture rooted in justice and care. This work is continuous, imperfect, and essential.
