Queerlective believes in the power of art to connect, inspire, and recharge. That belief is at the heart of our latest collaborative project: the Queer Community Quilt.
Born out of conversation and community dreams, this project is more than just a collection of fabric squares, it’s a living, growing testament to queer resilience, solidarity, and creativity in New Hampshire. We’ve partnered with incredible organizations like ACLU NH, NH Outright, and 603 Equality to help bring this vision to life. Together, we’re inviting queer individuals and allies to design a quilt square that reflects their identity, values, experiences, or dreams.
Each square, painted, embroidered, written on, or collaged, tells a story. Some celebrate joy. Some honor struggle. All are a part of our shared narrative. We’re distributing quilt kits through our partner organizations and inviting folks at community events across the state to participate. Squares can be signed or left anonymous, what matters most is that they’re made with intention.
As we receive decorated squares, we’ll sew these pieces together into a massive community quilt, a visual symbol of what we’re building together. We see this project as an act of resistance. A celebration. A collective affirmation: we are here, we are many, and we are stronger together.
Keep an eye out for our quilt kits at upcoming events, or reach out to find out how to contribute. Let’s stitch this story together. Check out the quilts beginning below!
