CoLab Membership Subscription

A Queerlective Community Program

Welcome to CoLab, a shared creative space and community-powered retail hub built for and by artists. As part of our evolving vision to better support queer and marginalized artists in New Hampshire, we’re launching a flexible membership model to help sustain and grow CoLab together.

Membership Tiers

Retail-Only Membership — $10/month

Includes:

• • Participation in Queerlective’s in-person and online retail store

• Does not include:

  • Access to the studio space

  • Voting rights on collective decisions

• Ideal for: Artists who just want to sell their work through CoLab.

General Membership — $25/month

Includes:

• Members at the General Membership tier ($25/month) and above receive priority consideration for paid creative opportunities. This includes:

• • • Participation in Queerlective-led community art projects

    • Design commissions

    • Requests for creative services from partner organizations and the community

  • Access to Open Studio Time (members only):

    • Tuesday–Thursday, 6pm-8pm

    • Saturday & Sunday, 11AM–2PM

  • Voting rights in collective decision-making on new equipment and materials

  • Automatic enrollment in the Quarterly Queer Sticker Pack

• Ideal for: Artists who want to create in community and shape the direction of the space.

Key Holder Membership — $40/month

*This membership tier is still in the process of being developed and is not yet available for sign up*

• Includes everything in General Membership, plus:

  • Key access to CoLab to use at any time

• Ideal for: Artists who want more flexible access and deeper involvement.

Discounted Memberships

We offer 50% discounts for all membership tiers for those who need it.

• Discount is active for 6 months, after which members can reapply.

• A limited number of discounted memberships are available at a time.

• Discounted members can also volunteer to further reduce their fees.

Volunteering & Fee Reductions

Members can reduce or fully cover their monthly fee by helping with community tasks.

• One-time contributions = $10 fee reduction

• Hosting a monthly gathering (like Paint Lab or Yarn & Yap) = $30 reduction

• Running an Open Studio shift = $30 reduction

Examples of One-Time Tasks ($10 reduction):

• Cleaning and organizing the space

• Preparing workshop materials

• Documenting art shows or events

Examples of Ongoing Roles ($30 reduction/month):

• Hosting recurring gatherings

• Running Open Studio hours

• Assisting with monthly financial calculations

• Managing artist memberships

• Supporting grant writing or fundraising

• Helping maintain website or social media

• Coordinating art exhibitions

Some roles will be one-off work shifts, while others may be rotating responsibilities. A signup sheet will be shared regularly.

Membership Fee Allocation

• 20% of all membership fees will be set aside to purchase new equipment and materials for the space.

• Members will be able to submit requests for new tools and supplies.

• Funding decisions will be made using a consent-based process among voting members.

Quarterly Queer Sticker Pack

Members at the $20/month or higher tiers will receive our Quarterly Queer Sticker Pack — a curated collection of art stickers by local queer artists, sent out as part of a mutual-aid artist support initiative.

Consent-Based Decision Making

General and Key Holder Members have voting rights in collective decisions, including:

• Equipment and material purchases

• Program planning and space improvements

Proposals are shared in advance and reviewed through a consent-based process, prioritizing transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
